Is Yeson’s voice feminization surgery safe and why?
The new method of voice feminization surgery, called “Vocal Fold Shortening and Advancement of Anterior Commissure,” is the world’s first treatment that does not incise the skin and get the female voice range by modifying the vocal cord to a female shape using an endoscope.

What’s the surgical process?
It is performed under general anesthesia. The surgical procedure is performed by dissecting the anterior 1/3 portion of vocal fold membrane including subglottic portion and then suturing it with a permanent material. It takes about 1 hour.

How big is the surgical portion?
Vocal Folds are of the same size about one third of your little finger and about 3-5 mm anterior portion of vocal folds will be dissected and sutured with a permanent material.

Do you provide the language service?
Our coordinators provide services in English, Chinese, Japanese and Russian in all working days.

Is there any improvement after the surgery?
It shows an average of 74.2Hz increase in one’s voice frequency after the operation.

How long should I stay in Korea?
9~10 days and you should visit out voice center three times for the examination, operation and follow-up. Generally, follow-up takes a week after from your surgery date.

Any important instructions to follow before the surgery?
Any medication you’re taking currently, please notify your consultant (Aspirin and anticoagulants need to be stopped 7 days before the surgery).

How long is the recovery?
Please be informed that you are not allowed to speak for 7 days after the surgery and should minimize your conversation for up to 2 months. After that time, you can freely speak and sing.
